January 2012

The Garrydoolis NS Parents Association set up.

The members of the Parents Association Committee
are:

  • Mary Lee (Chairperson)
  • Mike Fox (Vice-chairperson)
  • Grace Savage, Marie Ryan and Noreen Hourigan (Treasurers)
  • Fiona Bourke (Assistant Secretary)
  • Breda McGuinness (Secretary)

Also members of the committee are Susan Leaden and David McGuinness (the parent nominees on the Board of Management)

March 2012

The PA was registered with the NPC (National Parents Council) and the PA committee members attended the NPC Training course.

April 2012

The Draft Constitution of the PA was drawn up and sent to all the parents and the Board of Management.

This will be agreed at the AGM in January 2013 to which all parents and BOM members
will be invited.

An Open night was held at Garrydoolis NS. The PA supported this event.

May 2012

The PA opened an account with St Ailbes Credit union.

June 2012

Cake Sale/Coffee morning/Raffle fundraiser, raised €1065.

Sports/Fun day

PA contribution of €102 for medals and ice cream.

September 2012

Payment of €160 for insurance to cover PA activities.
Payment of €30 for NPC membership.

October 2012

Following parent’s concerns for child safety outside the school especially at 3pm the PA agreed with Mrs Boland to send a letter to the Limerick County Council regarding these issues.

November 2012

From the clothes recycling event, weight of 1090 kgs was collected to be recycled, raising an amount of €654.

PA contribution of €166.50 covering the cost for our children in Miss Hickey’s classroom to attend ‘A Hippo for Christmas’ in the Xcel in Tipperary along with the bus cost of €120.

PA contribution of €256 covering the cost for all our children to attend ‘Music in the Classroom’ in UCH in January 2013.

December 2012

The fee for the Cake Stall at the PTDA Christmas Fair was €30. The amount raised is €414.

Christmas Eve Carol singing

The Parents Association are delighted to revive the Christmas Eve carol singing tradition at Templebraden Church as a gesture to the community. All parents, pupils and teachers at Garrydoolis NS are encouraged to get involved.
