GARRYDOOLIS PARENTS ASSOCIATION NEWSLETTER – MAY 2014

Sincere thanks to all for your extremely generous contributions of Easter eggs for our Easter Egg Treasure Hunt, which far exceeded our expectations. Such was your generosity that along with the small bag of treats originally planned, every pupil was included in the School Prize organised by the teachers.

Thank you also to those who participated in the Spring Clean.

April 10th 2014: Parents Association Spring Clean

In preparation for our First Holy Communion celebration, the parents of Barna and Garrydoolis school children are asked to give some of their time next Monday night, May 12th from 7pm for cleaning the church. Please bring cleaning supplies. Our participation in the past has always been very much appreciated and we look forward to your support again this year.

We hope to have the church looking colourful for First Holy Communion with the addition of some flowers in the pots that were sponsored by Barna Parents Association some years ago.

Our Recycling event has always proved a good fundraiser, so don’t forget to bring your unwanted household linen, clothes, shoes, soft toys, bags and belts along to the school on Friday May 16th for collection by Lenrec.

All parents are invited to attend the RSE lecture by Ms Mary Dillon on Thursday May 22nd at 7pm. Light refreshments will be served.

The “Uniform Swap Shop” will take place on the last day of the summer term, June 26th. Please give your used uniform items to Riah Hogan (087) 2359905 on that morning or before. The idea is to recycle good quality uniform items amongst our own school community, with any surplus always gratefully received by St Vincent De Paul. You do not have to contribute any items to take some away.

Anyone not already on our webtext list, please forward your phone number to Michelle Butler on (087) 1362803
